WHAT DOES TABULA OFFER?
Pure acorn-fed Iberian pork ham offers those who have the pleasure of savouring it a healthy treat.
Thanks to its acorn-based diet, the pure-bred Iberian pig has a high percentage of monounsaturated fatty acids, featuring oleic acid in particular, and its flesh has a very low percentage of saturated fat.
The Iberian pig is raised in pasturelands that provide the ideal habitat and food required for growth, based on a diet of plants, grass and, primarily, acorns from the trees that dot the landscape, most of them centuries old.
The Iberian pig is raised mainly in the regions of Extremadura, Western Andalusia and the province of Salamanca, where most of the pasturelands are located.
There are currently four Iberian Pig Designations of Origin in Spain:
• Jamón Ibérico D.O. Jamón de Huelva.
• Jamón Ibérico D.O. Los Pedroches.
• Jamón Ibérico D.O. Jamón de Guijuelo.
• Jamón Ibérico D.O. Dehesa de Extremadura.
